Time has Flown

Wow it is not long and we fly out to the States. Time has flown by and I cant beleive we will be leaving Oz for touchdown in LAX on Saturday the 1st of November. We will be gone for twelve weeks which still doesn't seem enough time to see everything and everybody we would like to.

To follow our travels jump over to Glen and Khris Back In The USA.

Another Scarf and Hat

Yes another scarf and hat. I knitted the scarf with knitting needles but made the hat with the circle loom. So easy. And I just love the softness of the fluffy wool. I used it with another wool that is soft like chenille. Very cuddly. Silly me grabbed the wrong size loom though, so this hat fits my daughter. I will make another one just in case I decide to wear it. I don't like wearing hats. I look horrible in them. But I am having fun making them and they are so easy, you just never know. I might decide to wear it.

Cornfield Quilter Prize

I cant believe it but I won a mini quilt from Carol over at Cornfield Quilter blogspot....she does some gorgeous work...take a look at her blog. Just inspiring what she gets done. Anyway, this has been a long time coming as I got it weeks ago and just kept forgetting to take a photo...but I just love the pink and browns together and really think I must invest in some fabrics of these colours to make something myself.

16 days to go

Yes we are counting down. 16 days to go....it seems like it can't come quick enough, but on the other hand I have so much I want to get done. I am sewing little gifts at the moment to give to all my crafty friends that I get to meet and visit with. I am fussing because I am hoping I will have something for all tastes. The right colours for all the lovely girls I will meet. Making sure I have enough.

I also have to get together a Healing Heart Quilt with heart blocks my Yahoo group CRAFT are making. Our good friend Mary Ann from Maine has been terribly unwell and I worry about her. Our plans are to visit with her and I will take the quilt with me so she knows all her CRAFT friends are thinking of her and with her always.

This is Mary Ann and I at her home in West Buxton, Maine. This was taken 3 years ago when we stayed with her for a couple of days. She made me this gorgeous quilt and gave it to me when I was there.

Circle Loom Knitted Hat

I am pleased to say that I have another finish. I brought some circle looms from Spotlight and I made this hat in about four hours lastnight while watching tv. It was really easy. Although I got a numb thumb as I think I was holding the hook too tight...lol...just need to loosen up and relax. I always tense up with something new I guess.

Blackberries & Raspberries

Yes it's finished...and it is HUGE,SOFT, THICK AND SNUGGLY. Big enough to wrap around my head and lower face to keep me warm in the chilli winter in the States. Thanks to Margaret of a Sample Of Stitches I have named my scarf Blackberries & Raspberries. Margaret instantly said it looked like blackberries and raspberries and I thought it was the perfect name for it.

We went to the Zoo

Yesterday was a lovely day so we decided to go to the Monarto Zoo. The sun was shining, lovely and warm but the air was still a little cool, which to me makes a gorgeous day to go out. We enjoyed the camel ride and Madeline loved the giraffe. We could have sat there all day watching them. Anyway, here are a few photos to share teh day with you.
